On a side note I find Robin (and sometimes Catwoman) to be slower than Batman because while they are fast, many of their animations involve them faffing about. Their initial counter animations can take a long time.
Also the game is playable to the point where Batman has to meet Gordon at ace chemicals. Delete the game data and install it again. If that doesn't worked then rebuild your system's database and then install the game again. Do not play the game till it's fully installed.
